Besides running its own arts and culture programme, Klet also offers a place to others for private studio and audiovisual production, as well as for exhibitions, workshops, launches, gatherings and other productive or festive events.

Klet works in two ways — as a studio and as a gallery. Depending on the kind of programme, Klet can operate publicly (e.g. with its own gallery programme and exhibitions, but also fairs and launches produced by others) or privately, as a rental (e.g. studio shoots, private workshops, receptions…).

A LITTLE ABOUT KLET

Born during the coronavirus pandemic and developed as a studio and occasional DIY exhibition space for a handful of Zagreb artists and performers, Studio-galerija KLET (‘Klet’) started working in its current form in 2023, out of a curious desire to create a self-sustaining multi-purpose space that would continuously host all kinds of arts and culture events and give others a forum to realise their own ideas.

Once neglected garages in the courtyard of Ilica 73 in Zagreb, today they are renovated spaces with a vision of promoting and developing the alternative and urban cultural scene through a multidisciplinary, creative exhibition-based and interactive practice, with a special focus on giving young artists room for expression.

As a collective, Klet is made up of many members — cultural workers, artists, illustrators, set designers, prop makers and more — and it keeps growing with the help of many wonderful friends to whom Klet is endlessly grateful. 🖤
